We have learned over the years that early December seems to be prime time for aggressive rutting activity in this area of TN. We were able to see a new behavior this year with a large buck walking all the way across a field with his ears laid back, his rear-end tucked down and his fur bristled up....if not in fighting mode, at least intimidation mode. You will see an image here of him meeting up with a much smaller buck who knew he wasn't ready to tangle with this guy, but they did participate in some light sparring as they left the field together.
